Samuel Steinemann (he/him)

Direction

Samuel Steinemann founded the Zug Sinfonietta after completing his studies (musicology and philosophy in Zurich, cultural management in Winterthur). From 2000, he led the Festival Strings Lucerne as managing director on numerous concert tours around the world before taking over the directorship of the multi-genre Theater Casino Zug in 2009, where he made a name for himself with creative event concepts.

Susanne Guggenberger (she/her)

Artistic direction

Born in Austria, Susanne Guggenberger studied history and communication sciences in Salzburg. She then worked for more than two decades in various roles in the film industry, namely as an independent documentary film producer for Mira Film, as well as at World Sales Autlook Films and the DOK Leipzig film festival. Most recently, she lived and worked in Los Angeles for five years.

Michelle Nüssli (she/her)

Communications Manager

Michelle Nüssli studied Media and Economics at the University of Basel and Visual Communication at the HGK Basel. She then worked as a graphic designer at SPIN and Atelier Dyakova in London, as well as at Lars Müller Publishers in Zurich. With the love for film, she joined Stadtkino and Bildrausch Filmfest in 2022, where she is head of communications.

Katja Morand (she/her)

Film Management & Cultural Mediation

Katja Morand is a program designer for cinemas and film festivals. She is an employee at the Stadtkino Basel, artistic director of chinoworb, programmer at the Luststreifen Film Festival Basel and at Fantoche – Int. Animated Film Festival and board member of Balimage. In her previous positions she worked for Look Now! Film distributor, at SWISS FILMS and was festival director of the Swiss Youth Film Days.

Jodok Wehrli (he/him)

Production Management

Jodok has a Masters in Fine Arts. His practice focuses on the analysis of popular imagery and its impact in a capitalist system. He has already exhibited at various locations in Switzerland, including as a guest position in the Aargau Selection 2019, in the Krone/Couronne in Biel, 2022, or the ForSpace in Basel, 2023 and upcoming as part of the Kiefer Hablitzel/Ernst Göhner Art Prize in Basel.

Tobija Stuker (he/they)

Head of bar, desk, foyer

Tobija Stuker studied fine arts at the HGK Basel and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2015. In addition to numerous activities in the fields of film and music, Tobija drove as a bicycle courier in Basel and the surrounding area for a total of 10 years and worked, among other things, in the Nordstern Basel and in the Bar Renée as a bartender, at the bar and checkout at the Stadtkino Basel and took on the new role there in spring 2023.

Charlotte Holstein (she/her)

Administration

Charlotte Holstein completed a commercial apprenticeship at produktionsDOCK, where she worked as a production manager for independent theatre and dance productions. She gained a wide range of experience in the cultural sector, including in production and accounting at BandXNordwest, as a festival assistant and in ticketing at the Wildwuchs Festival and as a communications assistant at the Basel Theatre Festival. She has many years of experience in evening organisation as a freelancer for box office and admission at the Kaserne Basel. Most recently she worked at the box office and information desk of the Kunstmuseum Basel.

Andrei Tanasescu

Curator

Andrei is a programmer and curator based in Bucharest. His passion for music and cinema has led to a series of projects exploring the specificities of the two forms and their potential for historical re-evaluation. He was part of the TIFF programme team from 2010 to 2019 and regularly collaborates with the Berlin International Film Festival, the Bucharest International Experimental FF, the Bucharest American Independent FF and Les Films de Cannes à Bucharest. He is currently a member of the Venice Days / Giornate degli Autori selection committee.

Susana Santos Rodrigues

Curator

Zimbabwe-born, Portuguese raised, Susana Santos Rodrigues is the co-director of IndieLisboa Intl Film Festival, programming advisor at the Intl Film Festival Rotterdam, and programmer at the Bildrausch FilmFest Basel. She also serves as a member of the selection committee of the Hubert Bals Fund and CineMart, and an international consultant for the Doha Film Institute, as well as a mentor at IFFR Pro and at Noka - Tabakalera. Formerly, Santos Rodrigues has collaborated with Karlovy Vary, Jeonju, Cinéma du Réel, Kerala and Rio de Janeiro, among others. She is the co-founder of the festival and film distribution company VAIVEM.

Sung Moon

Curator

Moon started working for Jeonju IFF (Korea) in 2004, for which she has been co-selecting the programme since 2019. She gained experience at various film festivals such as Busan IFF, Jeonju Project Market and Docs Port Incheon. From 2012 to 2020, she represented the Korean Film Council in Latin America and founded the Buenos Aires Korean Film Festival in 2014. She is also the editor of the books I am Independent - Beyond Mainstream: 7 Women Directors (2021) and What will be of Cinema? (2021) and Introduction to the Quay Brothers (2020).
