Touring the festivals
The Spanish all-rounder Luís Miñarro is presenting his latest cinematic contribution in the competition programme of International Film Festival Rotterdam.
In 2019, the director Luís Miñarro celebrated the Swiss premiere of Love Me Not – an exciting new adaptation of Oscar Wilde's Salome – in Bildrausch's international competition programme 'Cutting Edge'. Already in 2014, his directing debut Stella Cadente reinvented the costume drama genre in an abstract and lavishly inventive way, and he came to Basel then for the first time.
Now, the Spanish all-rounder is presenting his latest cinematic contribution in the competition programme of International Film Festival Rotterdam: the feature film Destell Bravío (Mighty Flash), which he has co-produced. The film was directed by the Spanish author and producer Ainhoa Rodríguez. The film promises to be a genre-transcending enjoyment, as it already has a reputation of skilfully combining mystery thriller, feminist manifesto, art film and social drama. The film was shot with amateur actors and actresses in rural Spain, which also plays a leading role. – And suddenly a shot is fired.
The 50th edition of International Film Festival Rotterdam will take place locally, (inter)nationally and online in February and June 2021. We congratulate the festival on its milestone birthday and the Bildrausch friend Luís Miñarro on his latest film!
