My first Buzz
Bildrausch is launching a series of initiatives aimed at younger generations.
Under the motto "Mein erster Rausch" (which in German means "my first high" or "my first buzz" and is a pun on the festival's name), Bildrausch is launching a whole range of initiatives for under-30-year-olds, including a discounted day pass for youths, students and trainees. For a flat rate of 30 CHF, young visitors can enjoy visually stunning worlds and courageous stories from morning to night!
The new, low-threshold initiative aims to encourage younger generations to try out a variety of cinematic formats and immerse themselves entirely in our festival.
And those who want to fill the silver screens with their own films can take part in the new short film competition. Here, too, everything revolves around that first unforgettable buzz: that feeling, insight or encounter, which shaped, challenged or enriched a single moment or an entire life – condensed into a short film of no more than 3 minutes. Be it a fiction film, documentary, animation or wild experiment: the competition is open to submissions!
The films will compete for a cash award worth 500 CHF. The aesthetically and narratively most surprising and convincing works are presented to the audience in the programme of the 10th Bildrausch – Filmfest Basel. An expert jury of three will determine the winner. All submitted works will be shown uncensored at an Open Screening at the new festival centre on Theaterplatz.
