The Balcony Movie

  • Pawel Lozinski

FILMEXPLORER’s Series: Enchanting Architecture Expanding Film. In collaboration with the BILDRAUSCH FILMFEST BASEL.

«Pawel Lozinski invites us to his balcony. In the first shot, we see how he installs the microphone and directs his gaze through the camera. His gaze becomes our gaze. Here we pause and wait for the world to appear before our eyes. With simple, almost mundane questions and a great deal of empathy, the filmmaker lures passers-by from the balcony in front of his camera. Although the setting is minimal, a touching, kaleidoscopic tapestry of stories is woven that becomes ever denser. People return days, weeks, months after their first encounter, as if the experience of being listened to here has left a lasting impression. The Balcony Movie is a tribute to humanity.»
