Above the grandparents' home in southern Italy is an apartment that has been started. "If there was a window here, you could see the sea". What would have happened if the director had grown up there instead of in Switzerland? Like the beam of a flashlight in the dark, the film explores the nostalgia of an alternative past. It reflects on languages - Swiss German, German, Italian and Calabrian dialect are spoken in the film - and identities.

Ella Rocca
Ella Rocca grew up in the Zurich area and then completed the preliminary design course at the F+F School of Art and Design in Zurich. In 2023, Ella Rocca completes her Bachelor's degree in Video at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Department of Design Film Art.
