For ten years, a daily newspaper in Kabul reported on abuse, corruption and nepotism in a transparent, critical and investigative manner. The withdrawal of international troops and the Taliban’s seizure of power put an end to this work. The independent press falls silent.

Abbas Rezaie
Documentary filmmaker and video reporter Abbas Rezaie has made two shorter films in 2021: about a bomb attack on a school and about Iranian refugees in Kabul. A film about girls who were excluded from school and work by the Taliban is in the works. THE ETILAAT ROZ is his first feature-length documentary.
