DIRECTOR

  • Margaux Guillemard

Margaux Guillemard is a French director, film teacher and voice actress. She has directed a number of short films, including 26 rue Saint-Fargeau and The Last Name of John Cage. She is currently collaborating with choreographer Dorine Aguilar on a multimedia project called I don't think you know. Over the past nine years, she has also worked with Swedish experimental director Mia Engberg on several feature films. Together they develop their artistic and theoretical practice around the concept of visual silence, which aims to explore and develop an aesthetic of silence by questioning the voyeuristic tradition of cinema and giving more space to sound. In addition to her work as a director, she teaches film theory and documentary film at various places such as La Sorbonne-Nouvelle Paris III, French high schools and EFAP University.
