Although cinema is an "invention without a future", it has taken on the titanic task of capturing the great moments in the history of the modern world as well as the most banal. The days of isolation that humanity faced due to the pandemic have been addressed and interpreted in many feature films and documentaries. But few have shown that these tragic and absurd days can also contain elements of comedy. The Middle Ages tells the story of a ten-year-old girl and her family of artists who spend this period of seclusion in their home in Buenos Aires - a time that now seems to be gradually becoming a thing of the past. While the pandemic forces them to live between the danger of the outside world and eternal waiting, and they are worried about uncertainty, their future and their careers, they nevertheless carry out various small tasks every day so that life can go on. Like all true comedies, The Middle Ages has a sad side, but at the same time it proves that the world can be a better place despite the problems it confronts us with. Sung Moon
