"Maybe there is nothing, or there is nobody. But I persistently keep looking among the shadows and the echos." With these words, The Day is Listening begins – words that are like a motto for the works of Félix Dufour-Laperrière: a journey out of darkness into the light, out of shadows into a multitude of forms and colours, on which so many of his works embark. The title and the texts that guide the audience through this film come from the poetry collection "Un visage appuyé contre le monde" by Hélène Dorion, whose love of fragile/hybrid forms – in which narrative, poem and essay can dissolve into one another – is shared by Dufour-Laperrière.
