Not every mother is equally happy to see her daughter again. Anabel, in any case, only slowly gets used to the idea – after all, she had consciously banished Chiara from her life over 30 years ago, when she was still a little girl. Long enough for Chiara to ask her mother for one favour: to spend ten days together. No more, and no less. Anabel – who must forgo her life as an established lady of high society to live in an old and remote house in the mountains – agrees. She does not know what motivates her estranged daughter’s peculiar request. It is only in isolation, between fleeting conversations and unexpected and strange situations, that she becomes aware of the full extent of her situation.
In his fourth feature, the Spanish director and screenwriter Ramón Salazar, working with radical compositions and charismatic lead actresses, manages to tell the story of pain and sadness, as well as of the power and beauty of this strange and fragile mother-daughter story with a heart-breaking ending.
