Organic Super-8 Workshop with Super-8 legend Dagie Brundert

She has given us wonderful Super-8 films such as 23 Barbie Dolls Fall Over. She captures the beautiful, quirky things in this world with her pinhole camera and teaches Super-8 workshops all over the world. Now, Dagie Brundert is visiting Bildrausch and during a 2-day workshop (22 and 23 June 2017) she will not just introduce us to the art, fun and poetry of Super-8 filmmaking, but will also develop the films with the participants. Instead of using toxic chemicals, she will use Rhine water, flower petals, soluble coffee, vita- min C powder and washing soda. The works of the 6 participants will then be projected to the beats of the final party.

The Video Artist Tony Conrad Lecture Tabea Lurk

Since the late 1970s, Tony Conrad has increasingly made use of the video medium to express himself artistically. In a videographic review of his work, Tabea Lurk (author of the German monograph "Tony Conrad: Video und darüber hinaus") shows how Conrad keeps on appearing in his own works to speak directly to the audience with sparkling eloquence. We will see examples from his most varied creative phases. The result is a lively collage of the versatile performance and video artist Conrad.

It's the End of the World... As you choose it!

Flaming infernos, air disasters, deva- stating plagues, but also collisions and derailments in ones own household or (love) life: what could be more beautiful than creating your own individual disaster programme – reduced to a few minutes and without all the unnecessary dialogue and action. The "viewers-digest" form of major cinema hits were offered on Super-8 in the 1970s and 1980s and sold for up to 150 Swiss Francs to impatient audiences. Bernd Brehmer, a Super-8 collector and Bildrausch entertainer from the get-go is bringing them to Basel.

The Bildrausch Festival Bag

Bildrausch is proud to be able to give its guests a specially designed bag for the first time – and maybe you can have one too! The design/art class 3E of Fach- maturitätsschule Basel has designed the bag especially for Bildrausch. Inspired by the needs of festival-goers and by other famous festival bags. The class chose advertising canvasses of past editions of the festival as the bag's raw material. Thanks to the selected material, each bag is unique. What's more: this cool bag can’t be purchased. But we will give away two bags every evening during the festival!
